We now know the reason why Ed Henry filled in as the host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Thursday and Dana Perino will fill in for Carlson on Friday. Tucker Carlson is currently in hospital, this is why he was away off his show on Thursday. He is being treated for appendicitis and will be back on the air soon, there is no need for panic.

In January, Carlson took over for Megyn Kelly in the 9 p.m. Eastern slot on Fox News’ prime time lineup, posting ratings as strong as his predecessor.
When FNC decided to remove Bill O’Reilly from its lineup in April, Carlson shifted to the 8 p.m. Eastern position.
Carlson has not reached O’Reilly’s consistent 3 million plus viewers, but is generally the most watched program on cable news during the slot with an average of about 2.7 million viewers.
O’Reilly was the most watched program on cable news since the early 2000s, and Carlson is the most watched on FNC.
CNN’s Jake Tapper, whose program runs at 4 p.m. Eastern, took to Twitter to wish Carlson well.
Get well soon to @TuckerCarlson — hoping for a speedy recovery! https://t.co/RHmVBII5LQ

Most of those replying to Carlson’s well wishes did not share that view.

Get well soon so I can mock you mercilessly for your insipid commentary and personal sleaziness. But do get well.

As far as we know, appendicitis is treated with surgery and antibiotics. If it is not treated it can cause an abscess of systemic infection. There is still no official word from Fox News about his condition or his return.
